With the Discovery of America in 1492 the Moderna Age begins and Seville is elevated, for more than two centuries, in port of the New World. In the Real Palaces of Seville the House of the Hiring was created in 1503, organism fundamental to regulate the mercantile, scientific and judicial relations with America.
In the first years of century XVI, the preoccupation to count in Seville with superior studies shaped in the foundation of the School Santa Maria de Jesus by Maese Rodrigo Fernandez de Santaella. This institution was the germ of the future Hispalense University.

After the Seville exhibition it undertakes the remodeling of its infrastructure: creation of the airport, hydraulic works of canalization of the river and their streams to restrain the disasters of the floods, network of street cars, etc. The city is sent as of years 60 to a true expansion that forms the present peripheral quarters. In 1992 the Universal Exhibition (Expo 92) in the Island of the Cartuja was celebrated. Seville enters century XXI totally remodelada and modernized.
