History of Tomares
City council of Tomares

The small municipality of You will take is located in the western sector of the province of Seville and in the Eastern end of the region of the Aljarafe, shown on the fertile valley of the Guadalquivir. In 1.996 it had 16,980 inhabitants. The urban nucleus is based on a waved land, of gentle slopes and with an altitude between the 80 and 120 meters.

The origin of this locality it seems to locate itself in the days of the Romans, who already operated agriculturally these earth. During the Arab dominion, the place becomes a farmhouse, inheritance of the implanted one in its day by the Romans. The name of the population (Tomaret) is of Hebrew origin. Santo is conquered by the Christians during the reign of Fernando III, counting on own city council from year 1.250.

In the historical development of You will take, the small villages and agricultural properties have acted as catalytic of the dispersed population farmer, who has agglutinated around them in search of work or by a simple social inertia. All it is pronounced after Reconquista, it is materialized with the properties as of century XVII and reaches his greater height in century XIX with the consolidation of the Sevillian agrarian bourgeoisie. The urban helmet arises around three properties (Montefuerte, Zaudín High and Santa Ana) and is developed throughout the ways that come together in them, the way from Bormujos to Seville and the one of Castilleja of Cuesta.

The process of later growth, that arrives until half-full from century XX, consists of an prolongation of the urban helmet throughout the main way (the one of Seville), with a series of isolated residential zones (Mascareta) and some precise industrial performances. Between half-full of the sixty and half-full ones of the seventy one takes place a great urban development in the western zone of the municipality (2ª phase of Almenas and Valdovina), as well as an increase of the helmet around the main body. An alternative route is created (Virgin of the Dolores) to solve the circulatory problems and throughout her diverse constructions rise. This process of growth is made of disordered form something, with the appearance of dispersed nuclei and some emptinesses without urbanizing. Throughout years 70, a great urbanizing explosion in the North area of the term takes place (3ª phase of the Battlements and Santa Eufemia), arriving itself at the present situation in which that zone is totally consolidated by the construction. At the end of that decade and in years 80 the partial plans of Aljamar and the Carmen are developed in the south, with isolated and leaned unifamiliares houses.

In You will take can distinguish at the present time four sectors: The Urban Helmet includes/understands the area consolidated of the town and the marginal performances leaned him, with a predominance of the tipología to unifamiliar in closed apple. Santa Eufemia, located to the northeast, is an independent zone of the rest of the locality, being her limit by the north the A-49 Freeway and the east the cornice of the Aljarafe. She has three subsectors, with different tipologías and densities: blocks, leaned houses and unifamiliares houses. The Urbanizations (Battlements 2 and 3, the Perona and Valdovina) locate in the area the northwest of You will take, being contiguous with the consolidated helmet. The residential tipología predominates in them to unifamiliar with low density. Finally, the South Zone, with the performances already mentioned of Aljamar and the Carmen. This locality has an important industrial estate (the Manchón), located to the east of the municipal term and on levels lower than the rest of the term.

The historical helmet of You will take practically disappears hidden in the plot of new residential developments that surround to him, based on tipologías standard other people's to the traditional ones (opened apples, unifamiliares villas, etc.). The locality forms continuous urban with other adjacent nuclei like Castilleja of Cuesta, Gines, Bormujos and, to a lesser extent, San Juan de Aznalfarache, uniting to him to them numerous routes of communication.

Between its constructions of artistic historical interest they emphasize the church of Our Mrs. of Bethlehem (century XVIII), the Strong Mount City council and properties, Santa Eufemia and Low Zaudín.
