The small municipality of Tocina occupies a quite central position of the province of Seville, belonging to the region of the Fertile valley of the Guadalquivir. Its population in 1.996 promoted 8,660 inhabitants, of whom near 60 % they resided in the main body. Also the nucleus of the Rosales comprises of this term .

The presence of the man in these earth goes back to very old times. The iberos already settle down in the present location, to which they denominate Tucci. With the turdetanos it reaches certain importance, happening to be called Tucilla, being at Roman time when its greater blossoming takes place. During the Arab domination, it returns to change of denomination (Taxana). The Christian conquest of these earth and the Muslim farmhouse is made in year 1,248, during the reign of Fernando III Santo, who gives the population as Military man of San Juan of Jerusalem entrusts at your service. In order to improve the defense of the seat, the horsemen of the Order foment their repoblación.

The primitive nucleus of Tocina is located in the northern part of the population, being constituted by the small and irregular apples that surround to the Parochial Church. The town was crossed then by a parallel dirt road to the river (with East-West direction), that constituted the only one communication channel. This way becomes the first axis of growth, determining the successive appearance of several parallel streets that originate oriented macroapples of this a the west, arriving to create harmonic a road system. The expansion of the urban plot takes place mainly towards the south, since towards the north it is with inundables and unhealthy lands, that have only allowed the sprouting of a street (district the Polvito).

The appearance of the railroad alters east scheme of development, when bursting in with a tangent layout to the primitive nucleus of Tocina and perpendicular to the East-West axis that until that moment formed the growth. It supposes a barrier to the urban growth towards the east, determining a second axis of linear growth towards the south, in parallel to theCo'rdoba-Zafra line and throughout the highway that at that same moment draws up to unite Tocina and the new railway station, also located in South direction. From the Sixties, the land occupation takes place coming from a new rural parcelación. Not always for of progressive form, reason why the historical axes have been lost that oriented the growth of the plot. The urban weave grows by the suroccidental sector, filling up some internal emptinesses. Also a small urban sector located to the east of the route of the railroad, the District exists Christ of the Veracruz.

Between its constructions of artistic historical interest they emphasize the Parochial Church of San Vicente Martyr (century XVIII, of baroque style) and the hermitage of Our Lady of the Solitude (century XVIII).

The birth of the Rosales takes place in century XIX to the shelter of the railway junction formed by the lines Cordova-Seville and Co'rdoba-Zafra, as well as of the station and the facilities of supplying for the trains that are grouped around her. The installation of the railroad motivates the construction of the first houses. In 1.926 the territories of the environs begin to put themselves in irrigation and a sugar bowl is inaugurated, being constructed a small district for its employees. All it causes good economic perpectivas, that they attract immigrants and they originate a growth of the population.

This urban nucleus leans in the highway that goes of Cantillana to Carmona, developing a system of streets oriented of north to the south, perpendiculars to that route and parallel bars to each other. Few trasversales streets exist very (East-West). The nucleus presents/displays a homogenous morphology and uniforms, with a construction very densificada and little free spaces. The structure of its urban plot uses the wagon mentioned one like main street, taking place the growth towards the west as it is occupied agricultural terrain.

Another urban sector of minor so large, separated of the main one and located in the surroundings of the station exists, to the east of the layout of theCo'rdoba-Zafra railroad and to the north of the Cordova-Seville line. The South part of the nucleus of the Rosales belonged until year 2001 to the municipal term of Villanueva of the River and Mines.

Between its constructions of artistic historical interest it emphasizes the Parochial Church of Our Mrs. of Fátima.
