History of Pruna

The municipality of Pruna is located in the southern end of the province of Seville, being adjacent with the one of Cadiz and belonging to the region of the South Mountain range. In 1.996 it counted on a population of 3,475 inhabitants.

In these earth archaeological rest corresponding to the neolithic period exist. The first stable establishment seems to correspond to the túrdulos, that found a called town Callet on the site known like "the castle". Also there are rest of the passage of the Phoenicians, the Greeks (who denominate Prunna) and of the Romans. The urban nucleus is located between several hills, that surround to him by the east and the west. It causes that their morphology rather is extended, with approximate direction the north-south. The later urban developments have caused a linear growth towards the north-northeast and, to a lesser extent, towards the northwest, throughout the exits of the population in the direction of Algámitas and Morón of the Border (wagon Se-458 and Se-462).
