History of El Garrobo
.

The municipality of The Garrobo is located in the quadrant noroccidental of the county of Seville, occupying a transition space between the districts of the Aljarafe and the Sierra North. In 1.996 it had a population of 761 inhabitants. The small urban nucleus is located in the call Sierra of Shoemakers.

The history of this town has been united until time recently to that of the municipality of The Castle of the Guards, to which belonged as village. The first indications of human establishment in the area are of the period calcolítico, although the current population's starting point can be located in times of the Visigoths. After the Muslim dominance and the later conquest for Christian part, the area begins a slow development. The Garrobo is set on fire by the French in 1.810, being reconstructed later on.

The urban helmet is crossed from north to south for the highway from Gerena to The Garrobo (YOU-535) that unites with the N-433 in the northern border of the nucleus (Aracena-Seville) that reflects from this to west. The urban structure of this town is very irregular, having two differentiated sectors. The old helmet is located in its great majority to the east and northeast of the highway of Gerena that he/she acquires form and street denomination when becoming voyage. This sector is completed with the existent constructions around other perpendicular irregular roads to this highway.

The second urban sector, located more to the south, in address to Gerena, is of more recent construction and it is lightly separated from the first one. He/she has an equally irregular morphology, with a small part located to both sides of the Avenue of Gerena (of north to south) and another perpendicular one to her. Finally, some dispersed constructions exist to the north of the highway N-433.

Among their constructions of artistic historical interest it highlights the Immaculate Concepción's Parochial Church (XV century).
