The municipality of Coria of the River is located in the sector suroccidental of the county of Seville, to the foot of the cornice of the Aljarafe and very next to the district of the Swamps. In 1.996 it had a population of 23.362 inhabitants.
Archaeological remains that demonstrate the man's presence in San Juan's Hill from the Neolithic one exist. During the first half of the XX century, the urban development continues along the roads of Hard-twisted (to the north), of Almensilla (to the west) and of Seville (to the northeast), being this last one urbanized with treatment of Great Via. But the true growth takes place in the decade of the 60, for the metropolitan effect of Seville that transforms Coria into a city-bedroom, being built big isolated blocks (Batán), autoconstrucción quarters (Dented Antonio, The Well, Green Angel, The Pool) and housings of official promotion (Gutiérrez Pérez, The Peace, The Wolf). In the years 70 and 80 have been continued building on areas urbanized non colmatadas (Vegetable garden of the Pilar, Polygon Laughs Pudio, The Cat, The Mirador, etc.), having as axes the roads of Almensilla and of Hard-twisted. Among this last one and the one denominated New Avenue he/she concentrates the biggest demographic contingent, having as limit the Railcar Seville-Coria and their continuation, the highway YOU-660 that surrounds the nucleus for the west. At the present time, the nucleus of Coria forms a continuous one practically urban in its south end with that of Puebla of the River.
Among their constructions of artistic historical interest they highlight the Parochial Church of Our Mrs. of the Star, the hermitage of the Vera-Cruz's Sacred Christ, Santa María's churches and of the Soledad and the Arab tower of the Cerveros.
