History of Castilleja de la Cuesta

The small municipality of Castilleja of the Hill is located in the western sector of the county of Seville and in the oriental end of the district of the Aljarafe, appeared on the vega of the Guadalquivir. In 1.996 it had a population of 15.726 inhabitants.

The shield of Castilleja of the Hill consists of two symbolic elements; the "castle" that gives him name and the "shield" of the family of the Guzmanes to whose dominion belonged during great part of its history.
